1) Castlevania Portrait of Ruin is known as Akumajo Dracula Gallery of Labyrinth in Japan. It is literally translated as Demon Castle Dracula Gallery of Labyrinth.

2) It is interesting to note that the Japanese title of Castlevania Portrait of Ruin uses English language for its subtitle. Nevertheless, the term "Gallery of Labyrinth" is not retained in North American, European and Australian versions.

3) The game feature of switching between Jonathan and Charlotte was inspired from its predecessor, Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow. In Julius Mode, the players has a freedom to switch characters among Julius Belmont, Yoko Belnades and Alucard.

11) The Fernandez clan is not to be confused with the Belnades clan, since both names are one and the same. It's just a matter of translation that gave different names for the same family lineage.

12) The first mentioned Belnades in the original Castlevania series is Sypha Belnades. She is the wife of Trevor Belmont who fought alongside with him in Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse.

13) Did you know that there is a Belmont who shares the blood of the Belnades clan, thus making him a prodigy among his relatives? He is Juste Belmont, the main protagonist of Castlevania Harmony of Dissonance.
