Tales of Xillia 2 Fun Facts

1) Tales of Xillia 2 is a direct sequel of Tales of Xillia. Its event has only a year gap from the first game.

2) Kousuke Fujishima and Mutsumi Inomata's collaboration to design the characters from the first game was also retained in Tales of Xillia 2. Surprisingly, Daigo Okumura, a new character artist in Tales series joined their team in the second game.

3) Elle Mel Marta is on a quest to find the mystical Land of Canaan. The place is probably a reference to the ancient land of Canaan that occupies the area of what is now the modern day state of Israel.

4) In the Bible, Canaan is known for the Hebrews (modern day Israelis) as the 'Land of Flowing Milk and Honey.' It is a place promised by God to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob that will become the land of their descendants.

5) The Weapon Shift feature enables the player to change his weapon preferences even in the middle of a fight. It is quite similar to the Style Shift feature in Tales of Graces, wherein the player is given a choice to change his fighting styles in battle.

6) Did you know that the publisher Bandai Namco Games offered a Code Geass costume set for the fans as downloadable content (DLC) during its release date? Aside from that, there were another 4 sets of DLC available just days after its release. These include the Puella Magi Madoka Magica theme costume set for Elize, Leia and Milla.

7) The story in Tales of Xillia is set in the highly advanced world of Elympios. The name is probably a reference to the Greek and Roman mythological abode of the gods known as Olympus. The highest mountain in Greece is also called by its name.

8) Elympios is most likely a pun for the mythological lands of "Elysium" and "Olympus." The former is known as the land of heavenly bliss where the dead spend their lives for eternity, while the latter is the home of the twelve Greek deities known as the Twelve Olympians.

9) The guardians Maxwell and Origin have been part of the Summon Spirits in the series since Tales of Phantasia. They have been recurring characters from several Tales titles and were considered as two of the most powerful among their contemporaries.

10) It is interesting to note that Milla has the ability to conjure the power of the Summon Spirits that are under Maxwell's in the first game. This power is already lost in Tales of Xillia 2 though.

11) The name Origin is most likely a reference to the primordial event that started life in the universe. It is a commonly used term in different fields of knowledge such as in paleontology, archaeology, astronomy, biology, etymology and genealogy, etc.

12) Chronos is one of the three Original Spirits together with Maxwell and Origin. His name is probably derived from the Greek word khrono, which means "time."

13) Did you know that Ludger Will Kresnik is not the main protagonist in the first game? He didn't even appear in Tales of Xillia nor his name was ever mentioned.

14) Have you ever wondered who is the main protagonist in Tales of Xillia? Although he is just a minor playable character in Tales of Xillia 2, yet Jude Mathis is the main protagonist in the first game.

15) All of the protagonists in the first game did not only reappear in Tales of Xillia 2, but also retained their roles as playable characters.
