1) Final Fantasy VI is called Final Final Fantasy III in Japanese version. This renaming of the game caused a lot of confusion from the fans worldwide.

2) Did you know that at the end of Final Fantasy VI you can find all the theme music of heroes currently in your party?

3) Rumor has it that General Leo, Cid or Sigfried can possibly be recruited aside from their temporary roles as playable characters at certain points in Final Fantasy VI. Regardless of their popular notion, there are only twelve of them and not one aforementioned is unlockable.

4) Another popular belief is that there are two more unlockable Espers in Final Fantasy VI. This is due to the fact that there are two empty slots available in the Esper selection menu. Nevertheless, this is yet another false information. The first empty slot is reserved for Odin when he transforms into Raiden, while the second one is made to deselect the Esper you currently have.

5) Final Fantasy VI has made minor changes on their North American release due to some nudity and profanity issues. Nude sprites and terminologies that are too obscene and offensive were removed to avoid the probability of any lawsuit.

6) It is interesting to note that Final Fantasy VI is heavily inspired from Star Wars movies. There are lots of themes, story lines and allusions from the movies that are seen throughout the game.

7) Biggs and Wedge are named after the two members in the Rebel Alliance in Star Wars, namely: Biggs Darklighter and Wedge Antilles.

8) In the original version from Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES), Biggs is called as Vicks.

9) Square Co. Ltd., the developer of Final Fantasy VI also named two of the soldiers in Chrono Trigger as Biggs and Wedge.

10) The betrayal of Kefka against Gestahl reflects the betrayal of Darth Vader to Emperor Palpitine in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi.

11) Gogo, the skilled mime in the party has a striking resemblance to the Famed Mimic Gogo in Final Fantasy V. The latter, however, is an enemy boss. Nevertheless, he still shares the Job, Abilities and designs with the former.

12) In Final Fantasy Airborne Brigade, Gogo is featured as one of the summon allies known as the Legends. His signature attack is called the Punishing Meteor.
