1) Electronic Gaming Monthly (EGM) once pulled an April Fool's joke that spread like wildfire online. They published a rumor that Sonic and Tails will be included in the roster of playable characters in Super Smash Bros. Melee. Although the whole thing is obviously nothing but a joke considering the timing of its release, yet many fans still fell to it.

2) The April Fool's joke about Sonic and Tails' inclusion in the game brought a massive disappointment to fans worldwide. Nevertheless, Sonic appeared in Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Super Smash Bros. 4, while Tails made a cameo in the former.
