Tales of Legendia Fun Facts

1) All Tales titles are developed by the famous Namco Tales Studio. Tales of Legendia, however, marks the first game in the series not developed by the team. It was created by the Project MelFes, a group of developers from Soul Calibur and Tekken series.

2) In Tales of Hearts, Senel Coolidge is one of the summon characters in a Support Arte by equipping the Screw Glove. He unleashes the Grand Slam on enemies when summoned.

3) Grand Slam is an exclusive skill to Senel Coolidge that is not yet seen being used by other heroes in Tales series. This skill also became his signature attack in other games.

4) Although Tales of Legendia does not feature Mystic Artes, yet Senel Coolidge has one in Tales of VS. He uses the Lord of Creation (Banbutsu Shintsuigeki) as his unique mystic arte.

5) Did you know that most main protagonists in Tales series wields a sword as their primary weapon? Senel Coolidge is the very first main protagonist who uses hand-to-hand combat in a fight.




6) In Tales of the World Radiant Mythology, Senel Coolidge revealed that the mark on his face is just a tattoo he got because he thought it would look cool on him.

7) Dullahan is one of the boss in Tales of Legendia. In mythology, a dullahan is usually depicted as a headless warrior who rides a horse while carrying his head under his arm.

8) The name Dullahan is a derivative of the Irish word Gan Ceann, which means "headless."

9) One of the most powerful sword in Tales of Legendia is called Kusanagi. In Japanese legends, it is one of the legendary swords that are considered as the Three Sacred Treasures of Japan. It is was formerly known as Ame-no-Murakumo-no-Tsurugi, which means "Sword of the Gathering Clouds of Heaven."

10) The sword Kusanagi is an item drop of the boss Fenrir. In Norse mythology, Fenrir is the dreaded wolf that will kill the god Odin in the apocalyptic event known as "Ragnarok."

11) Grune's name is probably a reference to the German word grune. It is a feminine name for the word grun, which means "green." This explains why she wears green clothes.

12) The nickname given by Norma to Will Raynard is "Teach," which is a reference to the infamous Edward Teach (sometimes called Thatch). He is the notorious English pirate of the West Indies known by his epithet, "Blackbeard."

13) Norma is the only one among the playable characters who has no nickname. This is obviously quite understandable, since she is the one who gave them their nicknames.

14) The only playable character who has the same nickname in English and Japanese version of Tales of Legendia is the genius tactician Jay. Norma calls him "JJ."
